Snow and sleet this week couldn’t deter these brave buds from their Spring emergence.

Encouraged by brief periods of Summer-like temperatures earlier this month, these buds are anxious to be polinated and continue on their way to becoming pears. The recent freezes may have foiled this ambition.

Or, the freezes may have served to strengthen the character of these nodes of potential, and may ultimately result in fruit tastier and juicier than that produced by buds that had not endured such trials.
