It’s picnic season again!

Come out tonight through Saturday and help benefit the Union Dale Volunteer Fire Company!

The Fire Company’s job – all year ’round, volunteer their time and effort to continuously train and educate themselves in fire, rescue, and medical care, purchase and maintain rescue equipment, expand the fire house to properly store the new equipment, plan and run the picnic and various fund-raising events so they can be equipped and prepared to help the community when we need it the most. These folks may serve you a hamburger with a smile this week, but they are dedicated, prepared and willing to take care of you should your home, vehicle, life, or family ever become imperilled.

Our job – a few days a year, eat some delicious pizza, pierogies, clams, have a beer or soda, meet new friends or visit with old friends – some of whom we may only see a couple of times a year, hear and tell stories to each other, laugh, play bingo, peruse the flea market tables, check out the tractor pulls, listen to music and dance.

A really fun way to enjoy the community of folks here on The Hill, and, at the same time, contribute to a cause that is literally of life and death importance to each of us and our neighbors!
