We watched a Rough Legged Hawk (Buteo lagopus) as he followed the ridge of Elk Mountain northward toward his home in the Tundra.
This hawk is characterized as being ‘uncommon’ in this area, and is startlingly tame as it rarely encounters humans in its home in the far north.
Light and shadow play across a garden awakened by unseasonable warmth.
The incarnation of the Hill Dog transits our lives.
In her wake we are,

Stronger in faith,
Brighter in spirit.

Snow came soon! About as much as the Blizzard of ’93 (24″+), but no wind.
A warm start to the season gives way to proper cold. Snow soon come…
