BLESSING OF THE PETS
Christ Episcopal Church of Forest City will host its annual Blessing of the Pets on Sunday, October 7th.
Friends can bring their restrained pets to the Browndale Fire Station, Route 247 – 620 Marion Street, Browndale, from 1:00-2:00pm.
Refreshments will be available, and all donations and proceeds from the tasty treats will benefit the Dessin Animal Shelter in Honesdale.
The Blessing of Pets is in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, a lover of all creation, a champion of justice, and a patron saint of animals and the environment. This annual event is centered around the Feast Day of St. Francis on the Christian Church calendar.
Individuals of all faiths are invited to bring their companion animals (properly restrained) to the Browndale Fire Station.
