Rail-Trails event – Birds on the Trail

June 2, 2018 @ 8:30 am

Birds on the Trail
June 2nd @ 8:30am

Spring is a busy time for birds. While some are establishing their breeding territories here, others are just passing through on their way to nesting grounds further north, so both the variety of species and numbers of individuals swell to an annual high.

This event will focus on sight identification as well as song, habitat and behavior. While participants enjoy the health benefits of a walk on the D&H Rail-Trail, Interpretive Naturalist Nancy Wottrich will help us discover many varieties of birds that nest in our region, including Eagles!

Meet us at 8:30am at 948 North Main Street, Union Dale (Rail-Trail Headquarters) Space is Limited so please RSVP to Trails@nep.net Bring snacks, waters, sun protections, binoculars, cameras, bug spray and field guides!

This is the first in a series of summer events sponsored by Rail-Trail Council of NEPA. All events are free and open to the public. If you would like learn more about RTC’s programs visit www.nepa-rail-trails.org Like us on Facebook
