Mountain View Garden Club Plant Exchange kicks gardening season into high gear!

The Mountain View Garden Club Plant Exchange & Marketplace is a grassroots effort to connect the local community through the free exchange and sale of plants along with resource sharing of gardening information. This year there will be a venue change for the 13th annual event as we join forces with the Rail Trail Council of Northeastern Pennsylvania “Art on the Trail” in sponsoring “Art in Bloom”.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 24, from 11am til 6pm at the Rail Trail Council Grounds and Robert Stark’s Mill in Union Dale.

The garden club will still be selling perennials grown in area gardens and will still offer the opportunity to bring two perennials from your garden to exchange for two plants of like size or value. The perennials are sold at very reasonable prices and over the years provided many area residents the opportunity to establish and add to their perennial beds with locally grown plants.

In addition to buying or exchanging plants, local artisans and vendors will be selling their wares and the Rail Trail Council will be offering special trail events. Cable’s Deli will be providing food all day including a delicious chicken bar-b-que at 3pm.

As part of the festivities, students from both Forest City and Mountain View schools will be displaying their art work and music will be provided by Jim Carro & Friends.
Mark your calendar and watch your local newspapers for more information as plans continue to develop for “Art in Bloom”!
